I wanted to write a book that’s different.

A book that can sit on a every leader’s desk and picked at any moment for inspiration.

A book that empowers written in a very simple format.

A book that’s a reminder of some truths:

-That engaging and unleashing the power of people is possible and is actually great not just for the business but for society in large too.

-That taking care of people is the best corporate social responsibility work ever.

-That leadership is about enabling that.

Money is not enough! Relaying on salary to get pe

Money is not enough!

Relaying on salary to get people motivated won't get the job done.

And even if it would get them motivated, is this sustainable and does it create the right culture and attract the right talent?

We as leaders need to create an environment which is far beyond that.

An environment where people know where the team/company is going

Why it is going there

How they will get there

What's their role in this

And what's in it for them (beyond just the money)..

We need to create a workplace that is exciting and challenging,

That connects people together

Where there is a sense of collaboration, teamwork and community.

A workplace where people are appreciated and celebrated.

A workplace that offers opportunities for them to grow and become their best.

A workplace that has a sense a purpose and meaning.

Money is not enough!

We as leaders can and should create such inspiring workplaces like the above.

Why?

Because the environment is inspiring.

Shouldn’t it be an eviornent where people are engaged and empowered?

Where there is a sense of purpose and meaning?

Where everyone work at their best?

Where they go to their loved ones and their fullfiment fills their homes with love, joy and positive energy?

Why don’t we think bigger?

I have been keeping this huge pencil by my desk for years as a reminder to think bigger 😁

At one point, while I was still leading learning and orgnaizational development in the corporate world, my team and I were able to impact 100s of leaders and individual contributors through in-house programs with a very limited budget.

This reminder on my desk kept me in a way can challenged in my thinking.

How can we reach thousands without bigger budget or more resources?

This question kept coming to my mind every time I looked at this pen.

With time, the idea of designing deep virtual interventions got born.

Not the traditional online learning but something deeply impactful that can truly transform people capabilities, develop the commitment and collaboration between them and include business improvement work.

Fast forward, within 1.5 years we were able to 10x our previous years work; impacting thousands through these innovative virtual interventions.

This was a big lesson I learned in thinking bigger thanks to this reminder.

Is celebration part of your workplace culture?

Why don’t we celebrate enoguh?!

Celebrating small wins or even just progress can lead to big wins.

All what it requires is noticing the progress that’s been made by the team and acknowledging it.

It doesn’t have to be a special celebration. Just taking few minutes to say: hey team, it’s great…we are progressing.

However like other leadership tasks, celebration cannot be delegated.

It has to be initiated by the leader and without scheduling intentionally time for it, it will not happen.

We think of learning and training and development

We think of learning and training and development as some big event where we need to bring a professional trainer or learning and development expert to do it.

But actually it doesn’t have to be like this.

It’s a mindset and a culture that we can create at the workplace.

Every meeting is an opportunity to learn.

Every day when coupled with feedback and reflections can be a learning experience.

As leaders we can leverage this to create an environment where people get better every day.

It’s one of the most fulfilling part of leadership; seeing your people grow before your eyes.

Just finishing the new employee empowerment workshop series (Empowered at Work) with a great team at a great company, UVK Ukraine.

I have big admiration for this team who despite the war, they are doing their best to continue with their mission!

We explored the power of:
- Starting each day with positive energy
- Cultivating an empowering mindset, personal vision and purpose
- Taking initiative to improve the workplace
- Developing strong working relationships and partnerships

Do you have an inner voice that is harsh and mean?

A voice which beats you up every time you make a mistake?

Here is an experience I had which made me realize that I had such voice..

This was the day I resolved that I will change it for good.

I started repeating mantras to become kinder wirh myself.

Interesting enough not only my relationship with myself improved but also my relationship with others.

In a way this experience and the decision I made that day changed my life. I hope it will inspire you!

Working-out matters!
Especially for leaders..

Not because of the dozen of health benefits that have been proven scientifically.

Or mental and emotional benefits which have been documented by research.

But because of the way we feel about ourselves when do the right thing.

When we face our tendency to stay in our comfort zone and do what’s hard to grow.

That’s where our self esteem and confidence increase.

And that positive feeling we have about ourselves is something we transmit consciously and unconsciously to every one we meet.

Physical training does make a difference.

It’s a transformational habit that can help us lead, inspire and transform.

How to stay positive in the most challenging times?!

Early in my career after a personal health crisis due to professional challenges, I read a book which inspired me and opened my eyes to the power of reading.

I realized that reading something positive motivational or inspirational for just few minutes early in the day, changes my day. From that point on I got hooked.

I usually find it difficult sitting with a book for hours however I found that I can do couple of pages a day.

The good news was this is more than enough to set my mindset up for a good day, every day.

How stay positive despite everything around us?

Reading couple of pages a day of something that uplifts our spirit, remind us that we can, and help us to see the opportunities.
